The Mens Style Blogs

At Bees & Taylor we are ourselves as style consultants, for both men and women. Yes, we know that we often appeal more to women because men don’t seek style advice, often happier to trial and error for themselves. Anyway, we thought we would browse the internet and find some of our favourite menswear blogs and street style sites, to inspire.

Dear Miuccia…

Wednesday 21st May 2014

Dear Miuccia,

We hope you are very well, where are you at the moment, Milan?
We just wanted to drop you a little thank you note to say how much we thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Pradasphere’ exhibition in Harrods. It was so exciting to see such a range of your designs and collections, as well as learn more about the history of the fashion house.

We have never been more excited by your shoes and overcoats(for us, your most covetable pieces) – if only we could have dressed up in them? Maybe next time.

Keep doing as you do, you’re fabulous.

Kindest, Bees & Taylor

Style At A Steal

We all love a discount and nothing gives us more pleasure than styling out a designer look at less than half the original price. Where once it was kept on the down low, we are now smugly up front about bagging our designer wares on the cheap. We are a nation of bargain-hunters and never more so since the banking crisis hit and the retail industry had to find new ways to thrive in a competitive market. No frills shopping on a budget is the new black.

Currently celebrating its 5th Birthday and in our opinion, leader of the luxury label discounters: TheOutnet.com. Net-a-Porter’s younger, more affordable sister site is mark-down heaven, with last season pieces selling at up to 70% off the original price. With designers ranging from Azzedine Alaïa and Balmain to Helmut Lang and Alexander Wang they offer designer drops every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday – but you’ll have to be quick about it.

In celebration of their Anniversary they have asked 17 of their big label brands, including McQueen, Chloe and Kirkwood, to create a signature piece exclusively for the site. And who better to model the edit but the beautiful Chanel Iman.

It is this type of discount boutique that has helped to shape current shopping habits and premium labels are no longer just for the rich and famous. Cash-strapped, fashion-conscious shoppers are boosting demand for stylish deals and there are many others cashing in on the phenomenon. From sample sales, pop-up sales, designer outlets and online clearance sites there is no need to forfeit your rent for that must-have pair of Louboutin’s.

So get savvy and save money whilst you shop. My Father always told me to look after the pennies… he never said not to spend them!

Bees & Taylor Must See: Sony World Photography Exhibition at Somerset House

On bank holiday Monday, Bees & Taylor went to the Somerset House, on the Strand (one of our favourite places in London) to see this years Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition. Despite feeling heavy headed from a fun party the night before (don’t judge us, we bet you did too!) the photographs and space where they hang is such an experience, with subjects ranging from wild lions to third world landscapes and moments between lovers.

We loved it and think you would too, click through to find out more and book your tickets.
